Item description:

Site of Nazi concentration camp, "Kurtenhof", built in 1941 and used for 3 years during the Nazi occupation of Latvia in WWII. Over 100,000 men, women and children were put to death here.
This is lot include one badge. (you can see on illustration) Badge made in USSR approximately 1960-1980 years.

Salaspils Memorial

The memorial was erected in 1967 by the Russians to honor the persons who died here. A huge concrete wall in the shape of a long hollow cement beam marks the position of the former entrance, symbolizing the border between life and death. You can walk inside the beam and look out at the sculptures. The seven sculptures which stand in the grounds evoke the suffering but also the spirit of defiance and resistance of those imprisoned and killed.
